Why is our fish so special?
MòR Trout, literally.

MòR Size

Mòr is the Scottish Gaelic word for big or great, and that’s exactly what our trout are. This is the Steelhead species; the rainbow trout with a natural inclination to migrate to the sea, where it grows far bigger than a river rainbow and provides a chunky fillet with a clean taste and firm texture.

MòR Natural

Our fish thrive in their wild Atlantic environment. We rear with nature - mimicking a natural silty riverbed in their early months in our spring-fed hatchery, moving them to freshwater hill lochs to acclimatise to the elements, before their final journey to the sea. There, the Inner Hebrides protect them from harsher ocean swell but the currents racing through the Cuan Sound and the Corryvreckan - the third largest whirlpool in the world - are extreme, and our fish quickly become real athletes.

MòR Health

We have pioneered a low-impact, responsibly sourced and carefully tailored diet for our trout, so they achieve the optimum levels of flesh quality and Omega 3s; protein of the highest nutritional value.
